YAY — it’s a holiday week!

It seems as though the neighborhood is taking it pretty easy (in my case, I was fed by lovely gourmet friends) and hunkering down here in Bushwick or going to visit family.

What I’m trying to say is: it’s a light Culture weekend.

I’ve tracked down a few things and I invite y’all to post comments with happenings that I’ve missed. (And — as always, please add us to your mailing lists: bushwickarts@gmail.com)

Saturday, those industrious folks at sleepwhendeadnyc present the So So Glos, Lidia Stone, Radiates, and Banzai at Silent Barn. Market Hotel is also there for you over the holidays, with GDFX, Alas Alak Alaska, Fancie and Stag Hare. For your dancing pleasure, the Northeast Kingdom Den (new name, same great vibe) presents the Notorious G.I.B. starting at 10pm. By the by, they’re packing them in at the Kingdom Den for Thursday night Acoustic Lounge and a little birdie told me that the music nights may spill over into Sundays. (Here’s hoping for a repeat of last year’s Twin Peaks Tuesdays, eh?)

Sunday, Silent Barn again opens its doors — this time for their first-ever Salon (in the afternoon!). “Madame Pemberley will be hosting Silent Barn’s first salon. Work by Hans Kuzmich and Kyle K will be presented. Hot soup and beverages will be served. Bring articles, books, films, and ideas for discussion.”

Wherever you are and whatever you do this weekend, please have a wonderful one and check back next week — the calendar is filling up already!
