$2500 — 4br: This is interesting. You have to have a household income for $80K, but you can rent this house and some portion (unspecified) of the rent you paid would go toward a future down payment. And it’s two apartments, so you can rent out the second to help pay the rent in the meantime. Worst case, you’re renting an entire building for $2500 and you don’t have to share the place with crappy neighbors. Best case, it forces you to save a down payment. Not a bad deal if you follow through.

$1650 — 2br (rr?): I don’t know if anyone who uses the word “classy” to describe an apartment has the authority to judge classiness. (Aw, they took the “classy” mention out of the ad, but added that it’s a real two-bedroom.) That said, this apartment is acceptably renovated, far better than the standard honey-colored Home Depot slap jobs most of these places get. If it matters, this is in a great old brick tenement on weird Troutman Street, where you can get everything from crack to foie gras and quarter waters to (soon) local microbrews.

$1500 — 2br (rr?): Based on the view of the park across the street, this looks to be on the second floor. No photos of the kitchen or bathroom, but I’m sure they’re decently renovated, and if you like light and a view, this is a good apartment to snag. Good location in the middle of everything.

$1995 — 3br: Hahaha, seriously? This apartment is really nice, no problems there, but it comes with a plasma screen TV. The price is fine for a nice three-bedroom, and it’s right near the train and Goodbye Blue Monday. (They screwed up the address on the first ad.) Looks like an all-around no-hassle experience, and you don’t even need to bring your own TV.

$995 — studio: It ain’t much, but it’s cheap. A studio with some kind of tiny mezzanine above it. Centrally located between both train lines. Hopefully you don’t have as much crap as the current tenant.
