It’s starting to feel a bit like fall in the evenings. Time to get outdoors while the getting’s good…. BBQs, romantic strolls through Maria Hernandez Park, perhaps a pizza in Roberta’s fabulous backyard. It’ll be a good weekend to do all that AND take in some serious cinematic magic right here in Bushwick.
Tonight, Starr Space and Molly Surno present another installment of Cinema 16 — this time it’s free (sponsored by Drambuie!) and features short films by Jan Svankmajer and music by Hundred Eyes. Friday to Sunday, the Bushwick Film Festival (BFF — love it) is back with a full roster of local and international films, bands, drinks, and what have you at Goodbye Blue Monday, Market Hotel and Lumenhouse. This looks pretty fabulous — let us know! In music news, super fun Bushwick based band Columbia plays in Greenpoint tomorrow night. Saturday, Starr Space hosts a “Win Animal Rights” benefit show featuring a whole slew of bands and DJ Crisis is spinning in the NK Lounge from 10-2.
Whatever you end up doing, have a fabulous weekend, Bushwickers! Keep us posted on all of your events, shows, art, and exciting whatnot and we’ll see you out there.
