Bushwick Sunset, by gsdali
Gay March Goes Off Without a…Notice?: Apparently there was a march through Bushwick protesting assaults on gay and transgender people this past weekend. Anyone catch that? All the local locas seemed to be in their normal perches when I was out on Saturday afternoon. No news on the Make the Road website, either.
Pave Para… — well, Let’s Not Go Nuts: Efforts to keep the city from paving over the Ridgewood Reservoir continue…
How About a Martian Invasion?: I wasn’t aware gentrification was so broadly defined to mean everything from a general improvement in a neighborhood’s quality of life to invading a country, evicting the people, stealing their property, deeding it to people who share your religion, and then booting out the refugees who settled there in the ensuing 60 years. What else can we cram into the definition of an already poorly chosen term?

i read about that march on saturday, it did seem odd that no one seemed to know about it. maybe they didn’t want to raise undue attention, a great tactic for a protest march.

What the hell is going on at Make the Road?! They should be embarrassed and ashamed.

I must say I am very surprised that your last paragraph did not set off a shitstorm of pro-Israel comments.

…or gentrification-as-colonialism comments.
