On Friday night, after two openings and extended schmoozing at Factory Fresh, Kevin asked for the third (or fourth) time if we could finally go to the Norte Maar exhibition on Wyckoff, Hecho en Bushswick. We made our way to a small storefront space at 83 Wyckoff, and were greeted inside with cold beer, impressive lighting, and new works by Rico Gaston, Andrew Hurst, and Amanda Trager.

Who we talked to: We met artist Andrew Hurst. I found his work compelling and beautiful, and Anna and Kevin were impressed enough to brave the heat on Sunday to visit his studio on Noll St. We chatted for a bit with Jason Andrew from Norte Maar, who told us about their mission to create, promote, and present collaborations within visual, literary, and performing arts. The Bushwick arts community is the ideal milieu for this sort of synergy, so we hope to see more from them in the future.
