Bushwick Open Studios Retro: Graham Coreil-Allen

Mid-way through sweltering Sunday I was pretty much ready to cash in my chips and melt away, but after making it up to the Summer Home group show on Varet, I was really glad that I kept going. I got a chance to chat with Graham Coreil-Allen, artist extraordinaire — he recently created a public art project (presented at Pocket Utopia) called Visionary Crosswalks, which explored the pedestrian experience in Bushwick. His work is fascinating — he has shown recently at English Kills and you may have seen his work on the cover of Gods of Mars papers.

What we saw: Video installations, photography, sculpture and Varetopolis by Graham Coreil-Allen — an intricate map on map on map of the immediate area constructed of beautiful neony tape over wall and window.

More on Graham at his website, but better yet, check his flickr.
