Bushwick Open Studios Retro: Eliza Fernand

We were already stinky and dripping with sweat when we made it to 382 Jefferson. After climbing the grungy stairs up the guts of this former factory, we emerged at the surprisingly gorgeous top floor loft of artist Eliza Fernand, and were greeted with mint iced tea and a breathtaking view of Manhattan.
What we saw: wall-mounted, flocked ceramics; colorful pen and ink drawings; slip-dipped, fired textiles; computer animations
You can see some of Eliza’s work on her blog.

382 Jefferson #3A

I stopped by this address too. Eliza was very nice. Her art is very joyful. My favorite amongst what I saw was the volcano in the corner. It’s a skirt. She said it was part of a costume, for a performance she will be doing some time soon. Ruby Streak Trapeze Studio is also at this address. They have a modest but very cool studio space in the back.
yeah, she has sweet a website too with video of that performance- http://www.elizafernand.com
