Anna, left, and Jessica.

I went searching far and wide for an arts correspondent, and she was under my nose all along: my friend and neighborhood maven Anna D’Agrosa and co-conspiratrix Jessica Elsas will be teaming up to bring you weekly Bushwick Culture content. They will highlight selected weekend event listings and report about ones they attended. And in case this isn’t enough, they will be running the Bushwick Culture calendar, which will leave you torn between coinciding events. Who knew Bushwick was so… happening?

A little about the girls:

Anna D’Agrosa is thrilled to be putting her recreational following of Bushwick happenings and excessive digital photos to good use. She moved to the city 12 years ago to attend NYU and works for a Manhattan-based trend forecasting/consumer research company. Nights & weekends she can be found listening to a lot of NPR, checking out BK venues & restaurants and biking slowly around the neighborhood (when it’s warmer!).

Jessica Elsas is a local children’s clothing designer/educator, excited to co-track local happenings and promote Bushwick’s creative inhabitants. When not designing and educating, she can be found singing back-up for the local band Pass Kontrol, eating mushroom sandwiches at the Kingdom, bartending at the Bushwick Starr, or tending to her herb and veggie garden—a green oasis surrounded by mountains of garbage.
