Dear apartment hunters: when you call on apartments you see here, please mention you saw it on BushwickBK.com!

#1 — $1100 — 1br: This place’s main strength is its price, of course. It is also a quite nice, renovated apartment in a dignified old brick building. It’s a bit in the boonies, on the edge of Bushwick’s far industrial wilderness, but not more than a 7 minute walk from the subway. Something about this place just makes me like it.

#2 — $1275 — 1br: Dammit, this girl’s ad is so annoying but look at yet another great apartment she’s got in prime Bushwick. Nice dark wood floors, basic but “new” kitchen, and a private yard. One problem is that this seems to be a junior one-bedroom — no big deal for a single person. Nice.

#3 — $995 — studio: Again, Shannon’s got it: adorable little place, wood floors, great sunlight, convenient location.

#4 — $1199-1299 — 1-2br: I’m guessing all three apartments in this building are vacant and waiting for tenants. This place is old school, from the baby blue tile to the living room paneling. Decent-looking all around, good price for both apartments, especially the two-bedroom.

#5 — $1600 — 2br: Very nice new renovation, and yet not over the top with the modern look. A bit far for the money, but maybe when you see it you’ll think the nice beats the price. Plus, you can’t beat the 30-second sprint to the L.

from the wtf file: In South Florida, we have a city called Hialeah. It is a magical city, where the conventions of taste are exactly inverted, and the short list is of houses that do not have the Virgin Mary on a half shell in the front yard. How did this building escape the vortex to be built in Bushwick? Aside from the weird location and the hideous outside, the interior looks fine.
