Well, I guess there’ll be no sleep for us on Friday night. Time to get 311 and the local precinct on the speed dial.

Awww, you’re no fun!

Hey, we are PLENTY of fun, but our bedroom is also directly across the street from their courtyard. When that party ends at 3 a.m., we’ll be awake for the next three hours listening to drunk people screaming across the street, car service cars laying on their horns because people call and don’t come downstairs for 20 minutes, the sound of the security gate squealing because people don’t close it behind them, etc.
We are certainly no angels and love a good party, but honestly, when we entertain, we have some consideration for the people who live around us. I can’t say others on our block have done the same.

this does bring up a salient issue, are the opera house lofts meant to be used as a performance space like this? i love all the semi-legal show spaces in the neighborhood, but nearly all of them are at least somewhat removed from residential areas (okay, some more than others).

I feel your pain Jenblossom. Noise can drive you insane. I used to love a good raucous party as well, but there comes a time when you turn the corner and you realize “hey” there might be others around our place that aren’t into this and are trying to enjoy a quiet night after a hard long week at work.
Might be a good weekend for you to head out of town.

Hey I’m in one of the bands playing at this party, and I understand your concerns — I’ll do everything I can to persuade people to be quiet and respectful, especially as they’re coming and going…

Thanks, Chris, we appreciate that. Have a good show and a good time. :)
